A hospital where I sometimes work was considering establishing a sex-change program. During discussions, an older surgeon offered this observation:
"Any man who approaches a doctor requesting that his penis be removed is in greater need of a psychiatrist than a surgeon." After that comment, the discussion went downhill fast.
