I will look them up and see what time permits. I am definitely stopping at Schwartz's for some smoked meat and have to ask my hosts which bagel shop I need to go to. 35 years ago I drove a friend home to Ottawa and we stopped in Montreal for bagels. Shop was 8 feet wide, walk in, register in front of you, conveyor belt on the left where you pick up hot freshly made bagels coming out. There is little better, in the simple pleasure department, than a toasted Montreal sesame bagel with butter. Love them.
I became the garde manger at a French restaurant in high school. Started washing dishes and 40 hour weeks during junior and senior year I moved up from dishes to prep to line and then to be the cold food chef. It was addictive.
