That Char Broil Grill Warranty

My father gave me a Char Broil Grill from costco in 2004. We've replaced burners twice so far, replaced under their 99 year warranty and sent to us for price of shipping ($5.45). We were actually starting to think about buying a new grill because 19 years is a little long in the tooth.

Well my parents are downsizing so dad just gave me his much nicer costco branded grill that he bought at the same time. The costco grill is much thicker gauge steel, has stainless burners and has never needed a thing. Nice grill.

Wife wanted to toss our trusty char broil in the landfill. I was shocked it seems wasteful to toss 80# of stainless grill into the garbage.

Opened up the char broil, burners are exfoliating again, and this time the stainless burner hats are corroded through. Called char broil and they're sending a 3rd set of replacement burners and new hats. He had to look up the product to see it had a 99 year warranty, then get supervisor permission. Says we're still $60 below the part replacment limit in the 'limited warranty'.

Figure I'll fix it up this one last time and then find a new home for it. 19 years!
