Joe,
You are making this simple CIS testing procedure too difficult to follow. I don’t blame you if you are a beginner. But you have been doing this for months now and should have attained enough experience to understand it. I strongly suggest to read DKLever48’s post about testing the FP relay socket terminals. Everything you need to know how to diagnose and interpret the test results were widely discussed in that thread.
If you still struggle to understand some parts of the discussion, feel free to ask here. You need to understand how the 5 relay terminals (87A, 87, 86, 85, & 30) function respectively with the ignition switch @:
- Ignition Switch @ OFF position.
- Ignition Switch @ ON/RUN position.
- Ignition Switch @ START position.
Replicate the different tests in DKLever48’s post and you will have a better understanding how CIS works and become confident in your investigation. I could not follow the logic of your test procedure/s and what you want to diagnose.
