The 15 yo's dad spoke up and said he was into Magic as well and owns over 40K cards and estimated their value at $33K.

My grandson (about to be 7) loves Pokemon. His dad is into Magic the Gathering (and I think other similar stuff as well). Although I'm pretty sure he doesn't have $33k worth of cards. Good grief, I hope not.
