If you think it was racial, I would disagree. Reese, a remarkable player and from all accounts, a really fine person as well, did an extended dish at Clark...I watched in a bit of surprise: Mulkey needed to get ahead of that.
BTW, as a white appearing fellow playing slightly above my pay grade in HS basketball in the '70's, pick-up and Navy stuff in the 80's, half the 90's, I have heard every racial slur imaginable, on and off the court. It just is what it is...a trite but true saying. So I get it, trust me.
Again, BTW, when my family moved to SC my junior year of HS, it ws the first time I saw women's HS basketball played at a high level. My HS in California did not have a women's basketball team in a league.
In SC, the varsity women played the game immediately before us. They were excellent and had a much better record that the men's team, of which I was slightly above average (think 2nd/3rd team All Conference in single and two A). We sat in the stands and watched the first halkf of very game they played. I enjoyed it.
