We all do.
Again, I was a good, not great, basketball player. I never dunked in a game because the ensuing fallout, the sheer surprise, would have made Chernobyl look like a a house fire, bent time and space. Or, truth be told, I would have spilled blood, my own.
I was not Luke Skywalker and was the first to know it.
But I could dribble, run, shoot and pass and never stopped moving (all the below the rim stuff) which can occasion an insult or three.
So I have no issue with the gestures, either player, but the duration of the taunt needed editing by the LSU Coach. That is about it.
But the refs: I umpired baseball for a few years and was acutely aware that no one on the field or in the stands was there to watch me...I tried very hard to not influence the game. I got the sense watching the excellent play of these young women deserved better.
