I recently changed the battery in my 02 Boxster S . After the change my car had a high idle speed of 1400 . I read online about resetting the egas . Basically you turn the key to run ( don't start the engine ) and leave it on for one minute . Do NOT touch the gas pedal during this procedure.

This procedure fixed my high idle . Not sure if this is a random occurrence or if my car is especially sensitive ? Oddly enough my windows didn't need to be retrained .
