We did a custom eve-mount, with an extended 6' pole. Cable runs inside the pole and we had the pole powder coated. The pole is affixed to the rafter tail with 4 bolts and then another plate on the other side of the tail, so the rafter is sandwiched. It's not going anywhere.

Nice! We did a 39” J-mount using an old Dish Network base, I like the 6’ option. Although I am at the top of a 28’ extension ladder fiddling with our mount. I am not afraid of heights, but I will admit I was a little wobbly and my hands had that hollow tingly sensation working up there.
