For the past few months I've been entertained by sudden loud banging which sounded like someone at the door. Mornings and evenings. A couple times there was a thump-screech-thump-thump-screech-screech fight between critters inside the wall. Some birds found my outside shower vent (3-flap plastic type no extra screen which closes normally) and decided they were going to make a nest inside. I'd get on the step ladder, turn on the fan, spray lysol, bang on the walls, and yell. Later that day or next day they'd be back at it.
It was finally warm enough to get up there and put some screen mesh inside. That should do it hopefully.
