I have preferences but not exactly a snob. I prefer espresso to coffee, and I prefer strong coffee to weak. I prefer espresso made from dark roasted beans to light or medium. That last is not so much the beans as the machines. Most espresso machines are not designed to pull a good shot from light beans, and those that can are often not used that way by busy baristas. The reason I don’t think I’m a snob, exactly, is that these preferences don’t lead me to buy expensive beans.
