IMO freshly roasted coffee is like bread ... it's at it's peak a day after roasting and needs to be consumed within 2-3 weeks. I check the "roasted on" dates for everything .... including the BBQ joint's coffee

. Fresh, oily, dark beans .... from Columbia, Sumatra, Yemen ..... no high $$$ hoity-toity beans from Jamaica, Hawaii, or pooped outta a ferret's butt for me

Some roaster's around here sell coffee that's already old and stale....

I've had in once ... visiting a friend in Hermosa Beach decades ago .... from a drive-thru ... $4 for a cup-o-crap .... poor girl ... bless her heart
