So, I was going to create a thread concerning a coffee issue that recently arose; I've been buying Peet's beans for years. I buy a week's worth (1/2#) and have them grind it - one less device taking up the limited counter real estate - and keep that in a sealed container. By the end of the week it is, nose-wise, fairly clear that the grounds have passed peak.
Last week I went to get a half pound and was told that they only sell 1 pound bags because they come sealed that way! So, apparently they dont supply their own stores with the 5 pound bags, and have increased their packaging waste stream. I guess no more Peet's for me. And as noted above, definitely no Starsux; those beans are crap. Sadly, Philz also isnt selling beans either, because their roastery was damaged... Ugh. I waded through all the local roasters in my general area and if you want to swallow 12 oz at $20 to $30 a bag, you're golden.
So, I guess I'm a snob....
