jJim,
I installed the Numeric in my '74 Targa. I had a Rennshift previously and once the Numeric was installed, it felt stiff. It was difficult to move. Last week I took the shifter off and discovered that I had installed the bracket that holds the shift rod bushing incorrectly. Hate to admit it but I installed on the inside the tunnel instead on on top. Changed it and it was an amazing change in feel. Was going to keep my dumb mistake to my self but thought I'd share in case the same was done to yours. Depending on if you have a console, you pull the boot up and remove the bolts holding the shifter down. Lift it out and see if the bracket is installed on top of the center tunnel.
Their optional shift extension also helps. I went with the longer one.
