I think Medicare only pays for real basic cataract surgery. I got the multi-focal lenses for near, middle and far distance and now have 20/20 reading and distance. I did have to pay over and above Medicare. I had worn glasses since I was 17 or 18 and now no longer need them. It was well worth the expense (to me). And as stated above, quick and easy.
