I will need cataract surgery soon enough. Have been meaning to learn more about it. The lens and cornea are two different bits of optically clear living tissue. Think about THAT for a moment. Lasik surgery changes the shape of the cornea. Cataract surgery replaces the center portion of the lens, which is inside the eye, and which is attached to a circular bunch of muscles that do the focusing. The incision is VERY small, apparently. The new lens slips through it rolled like a scroll. At least....this is what I think I know so far.
