Do this. Don't ask questions.
Get your ass on a pair of crutches, NOW. each day, go around the neighborhood, further and further. Take every other day off to recover, but push yourself like a biatch.
Do push ups using said crutches. Take bad leg out of equation. Focus on good leg and two good arms. Swig raw eggs like Rocky. Yell "Adrian!!!!"
Use your good leg, and build arm muscles. Practice on stairs. Up. Down. Repeat.
Two days before surgery, shut down. Recover.
When surgery comes, you will be rock star.
I was out of hospital under 24 hours.
