While Wearing a full wet suit, scuba diving wife still got stung around exposed lips and face by her nose and mouth regulator.

The largest recorded specimen was measured off the coast of Massachusetts in 1865 and had a bell with a diameter of 210 centimetres (7 feet) and tentacles around 36.6 m (120 ft) long.
I wondered how that compared to a Portuguese Man-o-war. I know they can get long. They are usually 30' or less, but they can get tentacles as long as 100'. The top is much smaller. What I didn't know about them until very recently is that they aren't a jellyfish or even a single organism. They are a community of several different organisms.
