Except for the small issue that the AWB (assault weapons ban) only discusses Semi-autos. You see fully auto or "machine guns" have been tightly regulated since 1934.

The AWB is silly and ineffective.

It did however cost the democrats 9 seats in the Senate and 54 seats in the House after Clinton signed it in '94. So, I guess it wasn't a total loss after all..........

Just in case you didn't know what an "assault weapon" is, the feds have detailed it for you:

A rifle having a detachable magazine that has at least 2 of the following features qualifies:

1. Folding or collapsible stock
2. Pistol grip
3. Bayonet mount
4. Flash suppressor or threaded barrel
5. Grenade launcher

Thank god we can't have a grenade launcher seeing as how grenades are already tightly regulated as explosive devices, and the loss of the bayonet mount has stopped the ever out of control "drive by bayonettings".

I feel safer already.

The sad part is that our government is no more interested in "gun safety" than they are in border control. Well I guess until the AWB "sunsets" I will have to be happy with my SAR-1 (looks just like an AK-47), (3) FALs, Remmy 870 and pistol collection. Of course I am looking to add an M1A if you guys have any leads on them. Amazing, the MBR (main battle rifle) for the military for decades (M-1 and variants) and it's not even "on the list".

Sorry for the rant and "hijacking" Tabs.
