I am not sure of the dimension differences between the 3.2 and 3.6. But my intuition says the 3.6 could be a bit longer due to the size of the bore and it’s more modern chain ramp architecture etc…

Dannobee,
I have a thread showing that the torsion tube still needs to be cut up and pounded in to fit a SBH G-50 into a G body. And yes, the crossbrace still needs to be bent forward a bit for all that to work.

I hope this clears up some questions.

That's part of what's driving me nuts, it was all done back in the mid 90s and I do vaguely recall that the 964 crossbar needed to be bent.
dimensionally there is no external difference between the 3.0, 3.2 and 3.6 cases, all the differences were internal.

Just looking at the modified tin you can see how deep the tin tray is which is what i suspected being the issue for using the 1.25" spacers

here's what I currently have, I guess the last question still is can I retain the 993RS pulley?
or from another angle what are the specs of the 3.2 pulley or what ever pulley was used for the t/p, I doubt that a stock 3.2 pulley can be fitted w/o machining the crank snout.

Here's a pic of one of the buggers causing the issue
