We trusts titles too much. The guy was ultimately willing to settle and die instead of being discriminated against for self avocation (difficult patient). The fact he is bleeding out and is offered benzo is more shocking. I don't think this is ego but a trend of health care providers for incompetence(refusing to look at the blood loss and only focus on theory)...
My ex's father went to the er for a chest pain. Elevated enzymes and was released same day. Died the next day at home. Family is full of pharmD's and blindly trusted the decisions made.
