I've been working in a nephrology clinic as a triage nurse and you would not believe how many pts start the call with "This is Dr Smith. I need to speak with my doctor." They are offended when I ask what this is related to. Some things like prescription refills I can take care of without bothering the doctor.
Back to the story: I read that earlier. Personally, I'm not sure I would have a procedure (and a colonoscopy is a procedure) done by a doctor on their last day. They have no incentive to give you the best care. They are never going to see you again. And if something does go wrong, who do you call? Who do you set up an appt with?
