I think you'll have an easier time going that route but if I could add my $0.02 with my personal preference. I would look for a 2011 to convert instead.
- Updated dashboard is more attractive
- Still get the 3.8 "mini-van" engine which many will say is under powered and I would agree but the 3.6 Pentastar can have a bunch of it's own issues
- Seats are same as 2007-2010 so the Islander upholstery would fit
The options for customizing a JK Wrangler are nearly limitless and relatively low cost so your can make it just right for her.
