People who are talented can gain the respect of millions because of their talent. I think it's sad when someone who had that respect goes off the rails and does so much stupid stuff in their personal lives that they lose all respect.
Bret Favre, Michael Jackson, Tiger Woods ... the list is endless.
Cher is certainly one. She was a talented singer who turned herself into a clown.
Gordon Lightfoot - the exact opposite. He was a class act for most of his life. He had some troubles in the 70s but cleaned his act up and redeemed himself.
