Yeah I was just thinking about this. The line has three connections, one adjustable (the connection to the flex hose to thermostat), two fixed, the oil pump outlet and the oil cooler shroud. There should be
no reason the line can't be made to fit exactly the connection between the outlet and the shroud, especially since they seem perfectly capable of making the lines fit exactly the wrong way in a very repeatable fashion. When I did mine it was exactly the same as the photo.
Honestly it's bull ****. This one should be easy. It's not the hard line from the rear of the car to the front, it's a case to case connection. One has to imagine they have an engine block or two to practice on.
