Weird New Owners Across the Street
WTF is going on? Impending VRBO/Air BnB?
The house across the street from mine sold maybe 3 months ago, but while the new owners have been around, they haven't moved in. However, it's almost as if their AV guy has, as he's been there constantly. Like several times per week for these whole 3 months. What's he wiring the house up for? TikTokkers and Instagrammers? NASA?
The house was flipped. It was an older house, lived in by the same mother-daughter duo since the 60s. Last year it was sold to a flipper, who renovated it very nicely. He ultimately sold it about 3 months ago for $1.7 mil, so it's not cheap. However, it's smallish: 3BR/2BA/1800 sq ft (though it has a pool).
Then the house sat for a few weeks. The new owners (in their 40s/50s) breeze in once in awhile when there are workmen. But they don't fit in in our neighborhood. They have a G-wagon and an Urus. No one* in our neighborhood drives those types of things. OK, so they're not moving in.
So why so much rewiring of the house? That's what I don't understand. Mrs. Noah was worried they were going to shoot porn there. That's not out of the question. (*I think the dude who owns Brazzers lives down our street; who else would run that license plate frame on their car? And he's the only other house who has flashy cars like the Bentley SUV/BMW/Rolls.) But even if you're going to rent out the house as an Air BnB, why put in so much work such that the AV guy is there for 3 months for such as small house?
