THere are some good sprays out there which will help the shoe shed water. ...that said nothing will make them waterproof, except for bread bags over your socks.

Yep, that's exactly what I think has happened. And it's not uncommon for us to be very soggy if we get a bunch of rain. We got >8" of rain in Apr, and we've had 3" in the past week, so the yard is really soggy.

I've got a pair of rubber work boots that were ~$15 at a hardware store. They certainly keep the water out, but they aren't nearly as comfortable or functional as the Merrells.

I'll email the company and see what they say. I doubt it, but maybe they'll want to send me a new pair.
