Ended up having to drop the engine and transmission again because the throwout bearing wasn't seated properly on the fork. I'm not sure if it is a good thing that I'm getting proficient at that task, but nonetheless, as of this morning she is back on the road!
Also managed to add an '81 SC to the stable in the meantime. Garage space is awfully tight but I think I'll make due.
