I rode a fixed gear bike for two winter seasons spinning around the RoseBowl / golf course all by my lonesome self and went on a few group / training rides with it way back in the late 80s. Being young, dumb, and the pros do it so why not me /us, right? I could have cause serious wreaks to myself and others who need to go back to work the next day after the training ride. Herr's pic of the single speed was exactly what I did only I had a cog but always had brakes.
