I've noticed a lot of "California" cars featured in
Excellence and
Panorama that are sporting Montana plates. I actually know a couple of the owners personally and, yes, they live in California. Guys here in Washington have discovered the same tax/registration dodge - establish an LLC in Montana, and transfer ownership of cars and other assets to that LLC. An entire cottage industry has sprung up in Montana to support this.
