I had to remove the steering cowl, then you can see there are 2 copper "levers" one moves and goes against the other when the high beams are on. mine had to be bent a little to make good contact. I used the post above way back to fix my high beam issue. No problem with my directionals though.

The big thing is all the amps and volts for the lights go through that switch.

BUT before you start tearing things apart what year is the car because testing the basic wiring first is better to make sure the wiring is all good. Did it work before and just start acting up? was any work done? is the fuse the correct amp?

Once you get the wiring or switch fixed install some relays. I even have h4 bulbed lenses now that I can run higher watt lights.
