I fixed the MagLite. Poured vinegar into the tube, waited a few days, rinsed and brushed out the gunk, dried it off. Still didn’t light, so folded up some aluminum foil between the battery and the flashlight contact, and it worked. Cleaned the threads, applied some antiseize, lubed the O-rings, cleaned the reflector and lens, and it’s good as new!
This MagLite has an LED bulb, so it’s fairly bright. Lasted for 20 years, hopefully good for 20 more.
