They are a rather large species so a box made for wood ducks is too small. I make mine out of 6" cedar fence pickets butted together to make a 10" X 10" X 24" box. Here an adult and a duckling are looking out. The ducklings can't fly yet, they just tuck and roll and bounce a bit when they hit the ground.
