Spectrum Monumental Failure
We are getting ready to move to different house. Comedy of errors all around and this just adds to it.
Scheduled cable/internet service transfer from old home to new home. We were to close last Friday the 19th but due to my being self employed the mortgage has been painful. Had to delay closing...
I had originally scheduled the cable/internet transfer on 26th giving us time to move stuff from one place to another. First the closing got pushed to the 26th. Last week when I realized that the 26th was a no go, I called Spectrum (which I shall now rename Speculum) to cancel the service transfer. All good they say, no problems, transfer cancelled.
Late Thursday and early Friday I start getting texts from Speculum saying you are still set for the service call and transfer on the 26th. So I call again and get that halted.
Saturday night/Sunday morning at midnight(ish) I wake up and realize I haven't set the DVR for Monaco GP. Turned on the TV and what do you know... no cable. Seems some idiot really didn't put a halt to the service change so they shut down service to my current home.
I'm on call #3 right now (each has been an hour or longer). These knobs can't figure out how to turn the service back on. I feel like one of those ladies at one of those houses getting passed around from agent to agent. Dealing with these folks reminds me of dealing with an Army Private, knows nothing and unable to assist but there they are, answering the phone.
Odd though that the internet wasn't shut off. So I was able to see the race on ESPN App. But it did make me realize that as painful and screwed up as this has been, cutting the cord makes even less sense. Besides the race, yesterday was also the start of French Open tennis and the end of the Premiere League season. Way too difficult and lost time when changing apps to check on a different event.
