I am sure glad no one got hurt with that flying wheel/tire.

My wife had an incident in our911 race car back in '09... right rear took off under load at about 80-90 mph. Brake rotor disintegrated, brake caliper broke of the trailing arm. When the wheel/tire took off (it was a 16 inch diameter 13 inch wide slick), it knocked off the oil suction line, and whatever oil was in the tank hit the headers and caused a flash fire.

No one was hurt.

The wheel/tire was found a long way away. The forces were incredible.

I am sure folks involved here will work hard to make sure that they learn everything they can about this situation at Indy.

Racer magazine web site has some great articles on this year's race with some video segments by Marshall Pruett. I enjoy his work. I met him when he was just getting started.

Great dude, great fan of racing and a great journalist. I think he still lives in this area.

I expect that he might have some insight about that open visor. I noticed it on replay right away and was surprised that the commentators did not mention it, as far as I can recall.

Anyway, I am really glad that no person got hurt... except maybe financially.
