I have a CR system that the prior owner installed on my 1976 911S and have developed a problem. When I turn on the fan and push the blue button to turn on the AC, it will run well and then I will get a grinding noise that lasts a few seconds. It will go away for a while but every few minutes it comes back for a few seconds. Sounds like it is coming from right behind thr center dash, and the best comparison I can think of for the noise is one of the old metal pencil sharpeners from grade school that were mounted on the wall and you would stick a pencil in and turn the crank.
Has anyone experienced this? It does not do it if I just have the fan blowing, it is only if I have pushed the blue button to turn on the AC compressor. Thanks for any input or advice.
