The statement above triggers thoughts of the 2 movies below. Kind of more cerebral alien contact movies that involve us figuring out what the heck they are trying to tell us via math.

It's been MANY years, I need to find a copy of Close Encounters of the Third Kind to watch. As a kid, I loved it. No idea how it'll hold up, but really imprinted on me as a kid.
