If I could only have one vehicle, it would be an SUV, but that is just not the case. My current solution to a truck is an SUV (Cayenne) with a heavy duty 5x8 trailer. It would be great to have a small pickup that I could use without having to get the trailer out and hooking it up. There are lots of things that I really don't want to put in my SUV but do. I hauled 20 bags of mulch in the back of my Cayenne yesterday and take my trash to the dump/convenience center a couple times a week. The week before, I picked up a few pieces of lumber. I usually have to pick up 10 gallons of gasoline every week or two for my mower. Sometime the fumes are bad. Those tasks alone would be enough to make me get an inexpensive small truck if I liked one (and it had Toyota quality). I could also use it around my property for hauling chores. The reason I have not bought a Tacoma is that they are a little too big (a midsize truck is as large as my full size was in the 70s) and there is no regular cab option (I don't want the double/extended cab). I am afraid this one will be the same (but otherwise be exactly what I want).
