Thanks. So, my comments relate to my 03, but it should likely be the same for your 01.
You will have to disassemble the parking brake assembly in order to disengage the cable from the actuating mechanism. Who’d have thought that in 2023, you’d have to wrestle with drum brake components (adjusters, springs and all the rest), but you do.
