You will have to disassemble the parking brake assembly in order to disengage the cable from the actuating mechanism. Who’d have thought that in 2023, you’d have to wrestle with drum brake components (adjusters, springs and all the rest), but you do.

Tom, I"ve taken those components off already ,, still can't get the cable to the point to un-do the cable. I am wondering if I need to rip apart the whole console to loosen the cable ? ?
