COTA does a few bike around the track days a year on Tuesday nights. I finally talked myself into giving it a try yesterday even though it was 96° at 6pm. It was really cool. So cool in fact that the temperature was less of an issue than I expected. The turn one climb is about as bad as I thought it would be. I was using 1st gear which for me is 34/25 and was having to stand up near the top. Down hill into turn 2 was the fastest place on the track on the bike and down hill into turn 11 was second fastest.
I'm planning to finally get the Cayman to COTA in September so it was good to finally get on this track and doing it on a bike really gives you a feel for how tight or open the turns are. Turn 12 is the tightest. About a 1/3 way down the back straight is a sign that reads, "MOTOGP BIKES ARE GOING 218 MPH HERE"
