I suppose some bow "hunters" might carry a bow for show, and just kill stuff with a modern pistol and lie about being attacked. What about bear spray? Can this be carried during bow season? I'd rather have my .45 LC but bear spray would at least give someone a chance. With nothing but a knife, the chances of surviving a cougar attack are not good. Then again, cougars generally do not hunt humans. Boars are another story, according to what I have read.
I notice that animal attacks on humans are actually pretty rare, but I just don't go out there without something effective. In case....
