Chris Kings are easy to service and overhaul (provided you have access to the correct tools etc); that makes them long lived and therefore cheap/ mile ridden... year ridden etc.
Noise is reasonably straightforward to reduce if you want to... slightly heavier grease in the free hub and the noise is much less intrusive... if that is what you like.
