I had carbon hubs failed on me so the fancier you go, that means lightest, there always the possibility of them going bad due to the lack of materials. King hubs are normally pretty good. The question I have for you is, does a hub like that matter in terms of performance too you? If I am building a set of traditional wheels like you, Shimano Ultegra hub or DuraAce will be laced to that set of wheels. Not fancy King or White Industry or any of the smaller mfg hubs. The performance envelope is negligible. Oh, want to get fancy, get ceramic bearings.
I'm not a fan of how loud the CK freehubs are at all, and I hate being behind or around someone who has 'em, or any really loud freehubs. Just annoying as all hell to hear that "WHRRRRRRCLACKCLACKCLACKCLACKWHRRRR" on group rides.

Wheeee! Look at meeeeeee! I'm riding a bike!!
