Yep!
Funny thing, as the doctor came in my room, we chatted about many things, and one of his questions was what movie, and just what was going on. I know he was testing my memory, and story. He leaned over and in a quiet voice said it is OK to admit if something else really happened. I assured him, it was just a battle with gravity and the porcelain tile.
My then fiancée made it clear, just raising my fist to her will cause an instant divorce, and hitting her is a call to the police. I told her the same thing applies to her.
My parents were married for 53 years before mom died. In all the years I lived at home, and even after I moved out I never once saw them get into the screaming argument as so many TV shows and movies depict. Not once. Ever.
The biggest "argument" they ever had was mom giving directions to get to a house of some friends. Mom said, "turn right at the top of the hill". So we got to the top of the hill, and dad turned right. No, no, no, you were supposed to turn left! It was a difficult turn around, but we made it. That and if paprika has any taste, or is it just a color addition. The tone of voice they used was obvious, no real argument, just different points of view, and they discussed it for many years.
And dad never beat any of us. My brother caused some spankings for the two of us, but it was always my brother's fault,
not me, I was innocent!
