it's a gen 3 hemi engine I believe.
Stress on a V8 tries to split the banks.
5.0 mustang blocks were notoriously weak in that area
and tend to split in half above 500 hp.
But I doubt that was the cause, I'd suspect a valve train
failure resulting in extreme downward pressure on the cam
which cracked the block. Possibly a VVT failure?
Or not.
