Why is that? I don't disbelieve that you only get 3 years out of batteries. Same for me, and I live in L.A. I buy batteries with 3-year warranties, and I almost always get to take advantage of the warrantee, even if I keep the battery on a trickle charger when parked for extended durations. I've always assumed it's because of the crappy batteries that get made, now. But I would have guessed that a cold climate would be worse on batteries than a hot one.
