"TBH i’m afraid to even change the battery on the thing.
I don’t know about other models from the era but the XK is notorious for issues relating to a disconnected or dead battery.
It’s not uncommon to have to have windows and seats recalibrated which unless you have the SDD software and Mongoose cable is a dealer job.
When i was shopping for the car i test drove 4. Each one had had a dead battery at some point and all 4 had seats that needed calibration. The seat backs don’t come all the way forward.
So i’m trying to avoid touching the battery for now but after yesterdays low warning I may go there anyway."
It's my understanding,before disconnecting the negative cable,insert a 9volt battery into the 12volt socket to keep the previous settings from being erased.
