As usual, I totally forgot the adage "The enemy of good is better" and decided I wanted to try moving the rearview mirror down so the sun visors wouldn't hit it - whoever installed it originally put it too high (to increase visibility I assume) so every time you flipped them down they'd bang the mirror.

The glass place I took it to swore up and down it wouldn't be an issue. Surprise! It was an issue. So now I needed a new windshield.

I asked them for an appointment the following week to allow me time to order a new Uro gasket since they did the re-design and it should have a bit more "bite" and do better in the corners. I dropped it off and they swore up and down it wouldn't be an issue and they had years of experience. Surprise! They broke the replacement! Had to wait another day to get the car back.

I guess third time's the charm and they managed to get it done. The installer told me they'll charge the next guy double because it was way more work than they expected.

In the end it turned out to be a good thing as the old gasket was totally torn at the bottom and likely letting water into the interior. So I guess in the end it worked out.

The new gasket is much wider for sure.

It's nice and even all the way around the glass as well, whereas the original tended to pull in at the corners.

And now, the visors can fold down as nature intended.
