This horrible abomination of a "handgun" is reviewed in this month's
American Rifleman. From Taurus, they call it the "Raging Hunter". Available in both .460 and .500 S&W. I just don't get it, I suppose.
This Interarms Virginian Dragoon in .44 Mag has been my main hunting handgun for my entire adult life, over 40 years and counting. Absolutely effective on everything I have ever pointed it at, up to the size of elk and caribou.
This one is a relative newcomer, only being in the rotation for about 30 years. Ruger Bisley in .45 Colt. Equally effective. It is a little less handy, though, with its 7 1/2" barrel. I much prefer the 6" on the Dragoon for portability.
I could not imagine lugging that Taurus around. One would have to use a sling, like a rifle. I actually have lighter hunting rifles, come to think of it. I just don't see the point.
